I played the first game recently and loved it a lot, but I wanted so much more from the world and lore, so I was hoping this would really tie in well or explain some things.

As a game, Little Nightmares looks intriguing because of its unique art style and premise, but if the intent when releasing this graphic novel was to stimulate interest in the game – by introducing readers to this strange world and encouraging inquisitiveness about the Wax Bellman – then it fails miserably at achieving its goal. However, the panels are occasionally difficult to follow and the story lacks focus. In terms of visual interest, Little Nightmares succeeds at conveying a dreary world of grotesque beings conveyed in repressed colors.
